Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

Sonny Day is chipper and hyperactive, even for a Day Glory Drake. He is active for as long as the sun is out, but as soon as dusk looms, he makes a terrified beeline for the cave. His intense nyctophobia is worsened when the more vicious nocturnal hunters slink their way out of the cave, often disrupting his sleep with grating noises like claws scraping against rock. Sonny is a bit of a scaredy-cat and will only go to sleep next to another dragon, regardless of the species.
