Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It glows brightly, and seems to prefer warm areas.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Koka moesashi's favorite passtime is to run through the embers of a dying fire. She also likes to play with the recently hatched ember dragon hatchlings in the roaring fire that they sleep in. Since she has grown her wings, she has been sleeping in a cave with the adult ember dragons because she is learning to behave like an adult and do adult things. Even though she is growing up, she still sneaks out to play with the new hatchlings every once and a while.

Her name means hardening ember.
