And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Frill Pup is one of the most boisterous of all the Eternal hatchlings in the ElemenTalia clan. Frozen as a hatchling for all eternity, Frill Pup enjoys spending his time following, and emulating, any adult he thinks is interesting. Incredibly playful, Frill Pup will often pounce on the tails of the adults watching him, his own tail wagging happily behind him. He is much different from the other hatchlings, who were named by their parents. Instead, Frill Pup was named by an ambassador, who, after seeing him at play, mentioned that he acted much like a wolf pup would during play. The name stuck, and Frill Pup has been content every since.
