Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dark Servant is a very moody dragon, and he often gets in fights. But he wasn't always this way. When he was a hatchling, he was kind and unselfish. The other black dragons didn't understand him, so they taunted him, made fun of him, and even fought with him. As time passed, Dark Servant grew angrier and angrier with the others. He was able to contain his rage for a good while. But when he was a day away from adulthood, he snapped. Some of the other black dragons were picking on him as usual, when he grew so enraged, that he somehow was able to create black and white fire. His fire, unlike any other, scorched the others, and they retreated. But that wasn't enough for Dark Servant. He wanted everyone to know he wasn't one to be messed with... As time went by, he moved on from the dead sanctuary, killed by his doing, and eventually found Belayar and Fargus. He was later adopted by the family, but still doesn't understand what happened to him on that day...
