When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Sjo Drake's name means "Lake Dragon" in Swedish. Sjo is a young dragon with an annoyingly perky personality. He speaks so fast, that many dragons can't understand what he's saying, until he slows down. He is very excitable and will do things without thinking out the consequences first. However, he is the best friend any dragon could ever want. He's honest and faithful, to a fault, and is willing to give the scales off his tail to help any dragon that may need them. He is quite fond of the young hatchlings and they are quite fond of him. He can usually be found in with a large crowd of hatchlings, playing. He makes a wonderful hatchling sitter.
