Nilia Pygmies reside mostly in mountainous regions, tending to live in large flocks. They are a curious, hyperactive breed; their curiosity often gets them into dangerous situations. Despite this, they are wary around other dragons and animals outside their breed. They are naturally shy and seek their own kind for companionship. Once the trust of a Nilia dragon is earned, they are highly loyal critters, sometimes to the point of being annoying.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pygmy dragons are the smallest category of dragons, being on the same scale as domesticated animals. They are often found around concentrated populations of dragons, relying on their larger brethren to ward away potential predators and leave scraps. As such, the majority of a pygmy’s diet is scavenged. Due to their tiny size, pygmies do not breed with larger varieties of dragons.

He has almost a regal bearing to him, walking with pride and pomp. He's highly wary of other dragons, particularly larger ones. It's especially difficult to earn his trust, even simple gifts of food don't seem to do it for him, he needs a sense of dedication. Of course, even around those he is close to, he acts like a spoiled brat. Persian is a demanding, little dragon, who needs constantly attention. His parents unfortunately tend to indulge him, though in different ways. His father, Admiral, has a knack for defending others, so consistently babies him in a way that makes it so he won't do anything on his own. His mother, Phoebe, meanwhile, feels like she can solve his dependency problem with her own positive attitude, ironically contributing to the problem. While he may be a brat, Persian is at least bold. He prides himself in not fearing anything and is loyal to his friends. He's just too self-indulgent to treat them very well or consider their feelings at all.
