Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very light and enjoys bouncing all around.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Kheva's parents are rather atypical Balloon dragons. While most of his breed are completely content with simply floating around eating fruits, Porenn and Rhodar are different. Both Kheva's father and mother are incredibly clever dragons, with an intellect as sharp a that of a Bloodscale's hidden behind their soft and unassuming appearances.

Kheva himself is also very clever but still a bit inexperienced in his youth and loves to spend his time playing far more than spying on other dragons' secrets. His games can get a bit silly and he is rather lively, so his babysitters Kheldar and Liselle have a hard time keeping up sometimes. The two Black dragons can hardly wait until Kheva gets older and maybe settle down a bit.
