Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Prince Flamyth isn't actually a prince, but when his royal red hide became striped with regal gold, he pretty much looked like one. Dragons began calling Flamyth "Prince," though Flamyth didn't want them to. He tried to deny it when people acted like he was royalty, but the dragons were persistant, so Flamyth gave up and accepted his new position. His gorgeoue hide, colored "the red of a noble's robe, and the gold of a dragon's horde" attracts many females, but Flamyth never wanted a mate. Eventually, Flamyth gave up his shy, modest attitude to become a snotty, attention-seeking "prince." He courted Broken Whisper, but, to his outrage, was denied. Now he attends to all his lovers while maintaining his high status.
