Originating from a single species that thrived in ancient times, Xenowyrms have become an incredibly diverse breed whose appearances vary depending on their habitats. Each Xenowyrm subspecies is heavily reliant on the power of different types of mana, making them powerful magic users. Chronos are often considered to be the most elusive of all Xenowyrm subspecies: they live in the darkest and densest forests, far from civilization. They are masters of time magic, allowing them to manipulate the flow of time at will. It is said that Chrono lairs are protected by a field of magic that makes the minutes tick by at a slow pace for any unwanted visitors.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Vandarus is arguably one of the most powerful Xenowyrms to grace ShadowLabyrinth's cave. As a master of his power, he is able to bend time to his will whenever he pleases, demonstrating superior power over the already invincible illusion that time is. As such, Vandarus is the Alpha of the Chrono Xenowyrms.

Not many have witnessed the Alpha's abilities; he and his inferiors have vanished into the forest that surrounds the cave, searching for a suitable, isolated place to call their own. He was never one for many words, and prefers to communicate through his actions. The Chrono Xenowyrms have a complicated set of motions that they use to interact with, and rarely does one hear a Chrono speak.

That being said, Vandarus is quite emotionless, his facade remaining unbroken by even the scariest of foes. He has a knack for leaving others befuddled after being in his presence, both because of his time magic and his convoluted speech, or lack thereof.
