Copper Dragons are masters of stealth, slipping silently and swiftly through the forests and jungles where they live. Often hunting in groups, their prey rarely know they are being stalked until the dragon’s at their throat. In the air they are agile and skilled. Copper Dragons prize family groups, spending large amounts of time teaching their young skills. So great is their love of life and family that they will sometimes adopt orphaned dragons of other breeds to raise.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The coppers of the woods have it easy; moving without being noticed is, after all, much simpler to do when one has trunks and green growth to hide you! But Neptheni was born into the harshness of the desert, a place where not only is stealth harder to accomplish, but prey is so scarce that no loss is acceptable. Yet her tribe had come up with a solution, and it was one she took to with fierce skill: sand burrowing. Able to move through miles of loose dirt at almost the same pace at which other creatures can fly, she travels without sign until her quarry is just above her, at which point a quick and brutal lunge is all it takes to grab dinner. Her skills in the art have made her one of the top hunters within her clan, a fact she holds with both fierce pride and the greatest solemnity, knowing any weakness on her part could allow her kin to starve.
