Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It seems to bear some semblance to a horse.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

A tiny squawk comes out from the adventurer's foot as he is about to step. He takes one step back and realizes the tiny purple baby dragon he nearly stepped on.

Rae, short for Raven, is an affectionate young horse dragon. He normally spends his time with the only other horse dragon in the clan, Ame Royal. Rae is quick on his feet (or hooves if you want to get technical), and is possibly the fastest of the hatchlings that chose to stay their tiny size such as himself.
