Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Mocktail was the first tinsel dragon to have stumbled upon what he later learned to be called Phantom Valley, and then much later on, learned to be called "home".  When he first arrived at the lush hidden mountain valley, he was inspired by its untouched natural landscape to call it the renaissance of the ancient world.  Thus, all of Phantom Valley's later bronze tinsels took on a last name related to the ancient world.
