It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. PurpleDreamHeart is a strong Purple Dragon. He spends his time digging out new caverns for other dragons in his cave to live and sleep in. He's been interested in moving earth and rocks since he was a small hatchling. As an egg, PurpleDreamHeart hatched while there was a cave in. Many large and small rocks were removed until they could free him. As an older hatchling, he dug many holes and built some stone walls. PurpleDreamHeart grew up and started putting his chosen trade into use. At first he dug with his claws, but they stared to wear down. The Dragon Inventor DreamsTwoKnight helped PurpleDreamHeart create some different tools, made with magic and hard work. PurpleDreamHeart can now dig out a cave, big enough for a dragon family to live in, in only a few years. He generally uses natural caves and removes or remodels the tunnels inside. He can often find a spring, stream, or pool so the family is near a water source.
