Ridgewing Dragons live just below the snow level on the upper slopes of mountains. They are a friendly, playful breed and enjoy dancing in wind currents near their homes or plummeting down into valleys from great heights. Their wings, by far their most striking feature, grow in fin-like ridges along their backs. While their bodies lack markings to blend better with their surroundings, a ridgewing’s wings have bright markings in the colors of the flowers that grow in their mountain habitat. Occasionally different-colored individuals can be found, but they are rare because their striking coloring offers little protection.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sa-Fire is one of the most beautiful dragons ever seen by man or beast. Her shining scales are like gemstones of every color of blue. They sparkle in waves when she moves so that it looks like an ocean seen under diamonds. Her velvety wings are like stain glass windows that seem to change with every movement.  Her eyes are so deep blue they look like black holes and seem to draw you in deeper and deeper with every breath.  However, it is not only her physical looks that made her so beautiful.  She is as beautiful inside as she is outside.  Sa-Fire takes care of the kids and the older dragons and never loses her temper with them. Her intelligence is a saving grace to the dragons of her clan,  saving them from the ignorance and wrath of the humans that want to kill them or use them for experiments. She is very young for a dragon so she should only get better with age.  A true blessing to her clan and hopefully to dragons everywhere.
