Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

Locke is an observer.

She observes how the humans—those who claim to keep her as their pet—crumple paper into balls and throw them all over the place. They throw them past her, above her head, behind her, they pick them up tirelessly and throw them again, all while making chirping and cooing noises in that special voice that they use only for her.

Locke is generally very interested in what her humans are doing, she always will be where they are, she will sit down and observe, and when they notice her, they use their special voice again.

Locke doesn't mind being cuddled by her humans' hatchlings, but she does object to being used as a riding horse. On those occasions, she would leave her observation place and move to a different spot, somewhere higher so that the little humans cannot reach her anymore.

From there, she keeps observing.
