Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It is irresistibly attracted to small, moving objects, such as leaves and insects.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

He was at least eight hundred percent sure he was a vulture. He looked like one. He ate like one. And he most certainly STANK like one. This, of course, meant that the giant dragons who claimed to be his parents were actually KIDNAPPERS, so he had no choice but to constantly try to escape and barf rancid meat on them when captured. While this has not led to the most harmonious of families, his aggrieved parents love him all the same, continually rescuing him when he gets stuck on cliff ends during his attempts to reach the nests of his "true kin."
