Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Unlike the other hatchlings, this one hatched with wings.

And look! Its back legs have become a second set of wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

IAWO, or Ayawoe, as she is called in the cave, enjoys sculpting the clouds into weird shapes using the tips of her wings as a sculptor's chisel. She knows that Weredygowe already etches the cave's walls using his long claws, but she feels the need to "expand the arts" in the cave. Sometimes her cloud sculptures (or cloptures, as she calls them) actually look like what she wants them to, and some humans seem to be relaxed by searching for the cloptures... from the ground, where you can only see its base.
