Originating from a single species that thrived in ancient times, Xenowyrms have become an incredibly diverse breed whose appearances vary depending on their habitats. Each Xenowyrm subspecies is heavily reliant on the power of different types of mana, making them powerful magic users. Obidar are a curious and shy variety of Xenowyrm that make their home in forests. Their bark-like scales, the polypores clinging to their bodies, and the vibrant foliage growing from them act as natural camouflage. Their desire to investigate travelers in their domain leads them to often sneak unseen near or slightly into camps at night. If spotted, they are shy but friendly, and many that wander the woods are grateful for the watchful protection of these gentle Wyrms.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Mirai collects leaves. He keeps his collection magically preserved in his living cavern, carefully organized in esoteric categories only he can remember. The leaves he has collected over the years cover several rooms' worth of wall space, so Mirai has taken to trying to only pick up new, unfamiliar leaves rather than just any pretty leaf that catches his fancy. Travelers who pass through Mirai's forest whisper amongst themselves that the way to appeal for Mirai's protection is to offer him leaves from their own hometowns, from plants that he might not have seen yet. Thus far the rumors seem to be true, as Mirai personally escorted a group of merchants (at a distance, naturally) through the forest when one of them left a book of carefully pressed leaves for him. He is rather fond of the book and hopes to create his own version someday. In the meantime, it is common for dragons to see Mirai settled in the sunlight, using his tail to gently turn the pages of his beloved book of leaves.
