Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Eurig has received this Welsh name because he has a heart, which is pure like "gold". As a Day Glory drake, he possesses a suited epithet called "Ryuujisei" or "Dragon Day Star".

Like his nature dictates, he loves to be in the company of humans. He is often seen in churches or orphanages, where he plays with children, allowing them to feed, to pat or to ride on him.

His radiant wings attract young maiden. It is said that women who take a close look into them are able to see their future self. However, he only allows pure hearted people to come close enough to do so.
