Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It enjoys swimming in a nearby pond.

And look! Its fins and tail have gotten bigger, and you’ve moved it to a larger body of water to swim in. It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Explooshie (Ex-ploo-she) was first seen paddling around with Sunamisan one day.  No one recalls another water egg being brought to the Bitterwind Valley. Everyone knows that Sunamisan is male and certainly did not lay it, and his chosen bond-mate, Zeffis is a Skywing.  As devoted as they are to each other, they could never breed together.  When asked, Sunamisan only smiles.

But, little Explooshie is here now, and here to stay.  She is being raised happily by her 'parents'.  She is quite adept at catching minnows, pollywogs and frogs, although sometimes it seems she is not certain what to do with them once she has them!
