Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Raizel used to be shunned by his previous clan for being a vampire, which is said to be one of the monstrosities of the dragon world.

One day, a red dragon of that clan not only beat him up as part of his everyday 'punishments', but also spewed fire throughout his body in attempt to kill him. Of course, he wasn't actually 'alive' to begin with and such small fire would just give him burns. This doesn't discount the pain it brought him though. And so, he snapped.

He unleashed his vampire powers upon the entire clan, wiping them out. Afterwards, he was unable to contain his power, affecting the adjacent clan. Just then, Sinbad, a king of the nearby dragon-country, Sindria, sensed the disturbance and stopped him before it was too late.

And that ended this seemingly never ending torment for him.

He was eventually accepted into Sindria as a member of the royal family representing his race with his spouse, Raskreia, and is striving to eliminate discrimination amongst the dragon world.
