Hailing from northern climes, the Boreal Dragon prefers cold, snowy weather. A very secretive and solitary breed, they rarely descend from the mountains they call home. The breed communicates over long distances via loud, low-pitched bellows. These calls often cause avalanches at the peril of any creature unable to run or fly away to safety.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Hokubu loves to watch the sun rise over the high alpine mountains, but she's often distracted by other moving things in the nearby landscape. Because of this, there have been only a few mornings when she's been able to watch the dawn break over the horizon in complete peace and stillness. Every few days Hokubu seeks a new sky-watching spot, climbing the high peaks for the best unobstructed and remote views. Someday, she hopes to find a place that no other dragon has discovered before, and make it a more permanent sanctuary to call her own and watch the sunrises from.
