Storm Dragons are the masters of the skies. They are excellent fliers and land only to rest and eat. In addition, they have full control of the weather. They are very hot-tempered and easily angered. They will attack any human that bothers them, conjuring strong winds and dangerous lightning.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Over the centuries, the storms that sweep her world are becoming more and more violent. Many are beginning to fear that the end of their world is coming due to the fierce nature of these massive tempests. To stabilize the weather and prevent disaster, several Storm Dragons formed what is known as the Great Weather Manipulation Project (GWMP). Miki's family has long been the rulers of her Cave. As a hatchling, she was taught how to act in a manner befitting her nobility. When Miki decided to forsake family tradition by spurning her arranged mate and leaving the Cave altogether, she was disowned by the family. As a result, Miki turned to the Project as a way to both make a new home and to provide for herself. Since then, Miki has become a valuable member of GWMP, even if she does retain some of her noble mannerisms.
