Waterhorse Dragons received their name due to their horse-like physique and endearing behavior. They are capable of surviving out of water, and when on land their skin secretes a gelatinous goo to retain moisture. However, their large paddle feet are better suited for swimming, and waterhorse dragons tend to move very awkwardly when on land. Waterhorses are very friendly dragons and enjoy playing with humans.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Aowhinn was the first dragon of the noble Aowhinn family. The last name was directly pulled from this creature's name in honor of him. One morning, Aowhinn walked out to the sea, spreading seeds as he moved on. When he had gotten to the lake, the once crystal clear waters had turned a violent gray. The brilliant, cloudless skies had flashed a startlingly suspicious jet black, and winds whipped through the normally calm valleys. As Aowhinn turned to flee, a dark figure appeared at his feet. Snickering, the figure hovered towards a gem that sat in the lake. Aowhinn knew the gem had world-destroying properties, so he bravely leaped into the lake and intentionally swallowed the gem. His golden body became one with water, and his spirit calmed. Sadly, he fell very ill, sputtering water every move he made. Aowhinn never recovered, and his descendants, the Aowhinn family, were born imbued with the water's very soul.
