Copper Dragons are masters of stealth, slipping silently and swiftly through the forests and jungles where they live. Often hunting in groups, their prey rarely know they are being stalked until the dragon’s at their throat. In the air they are agile and skilled. Copper Dragons prize family groups, spending large amounts of time teaching their young skills. So great is their love of life and family that they will sometimes adopt orphaned dragons of other breeds to raise.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Coppers are well known for their habit of adopting other breed's offspring, but this female takes her love of children to far higher levels than that. Founder and caretaker of a most magnificent orphanage, one carved from red stone and bedecked in fine carvings and spiraling towers, Matriah serves as caring mother and diligent guardian to any and all orphans that appear at her doors--from dragons and humans to goblins and fawns. Originally running the entire orphanage by herself, tales of Matriah's kindness and dedication soon brought in other similarly gentle-hearted coppers, and now an entire flock of the beautiful dragons serve to keep tabs on the youngsters. Known as a place of healing and laughter, about the only downside to Matriah's orphanage is that the process of adoption never ceases to make her burst into tears, the gentle dragon wishing she could just be everyone's mommy forever.
