Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Aisling is very artsy and philosophical, priding herself on the ideas and fantasies she creates for the lucky humans who cross her path. She hand picks the recipients with the utmost care, looking for those who look like writers, artists, and philosophers in hopes one of the ideas she gives them will become widespread with their help. This makes her a little airy with a tendency to ramble about her hopes to the unfortunate dragons that cross her path, so few spend time with her unless they're in need of her wisdom. However, those who do talk of the wonderful ideas she talks of and the gentleness she treats them with, and especially the beautiful dreams she gives them in thanks for their company and to the humans who turn her ideas into a reality. When not thinking, she likes to try and impart some of her knowledge to hatchlings and more open minded adults, namely the ever inquisitive Bryony, Aki, and Levinni.
