Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Apple Candy is the daughter of Orange Apple and Bubble Candy. No one realized she had a combination of both her parent's names in her name, for it was believed that her father was Earth and the Universe. And Earth and the Universe cares for Apple Candy as if she were his own child, for he is Bubble Candy's true mate.

Apple Candy is popular among the frozen hatchlings but unpopular among the adults, as she is Night Whisper's best friend and they love to play pranks on the older dragons. The two have gotten into so much mischief together that they now have a babysitter almost 247.
