Seasonal Dragons take on the characteristics of the season during which they are born. Thus, eggs that are laid in spring match the pink flowers and green buds of spring, and those that are laid in the summer grow to depict the bright green of the forest trees and the yellow of the sun. Eggs laid in autumn display the bright colors of leaves falling from trees, and those that are laid during winter take on the appearance of the icy snow.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Slavery is morbidly cruel  for humans, yet for dragons, life without freedom is worse than burning in the deepest pit of the abyss. DeathRow has the misfortune to have been stolen from his murdered parents as an egg, in his most defenseless state. Raised by humans to guard the prisoners in the death row the night before they're guillotined and forced to fight gladiators in an arena full of humanoids, DeathRow's heart is filled with misery, self pity and drama. He is not the suicidal type, rather, he cries discretely at night wishing for his freedom. Life is to be lived not to be suffered, and as DeathRow grows stronger, so do his urges to get revenge on his "masters" and leave by force. Although he has learned to hate violence by his cruel childhood, he is a thread away from freezing the life out of all those in the melancholic city he has as a home "home" to gain his life back and avenge his lost family.
