Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Inorian is a very stern and stubborn dragon who trains hatchlings to fight.  He seems to have some sort of "link" to the earth that allows him to run at great speeds, have superior strength, and literally, have a hide of emerald.  He even seems to only relax when Turak and Peradar tell stories of Rapture, but also seems to have no interest in going there.  Inorian was taught by Shinaka to speak the human language.  When he has to defend himself, Inorian will breathe a green flame and use his strength.
