Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon... except for the tangle of dangerous-looking vines surrounding it...

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Echo Snake, or Echoes as she's called, gained her name from the fact that she's mute and unable to make any noise other than an ominous echoing hiss like a snake. She was frozen because this would have turned into a huge health problem if she had grown up. Echoes has learned how to use different tones of hisses and different movements of her vines to show her emotions in a kind of 'sign language'. She is very snappy and also has snake-like reflexes that mostly include nipping feet that come too close. Luckily, she doesn't have venom of any kind, but it still hurts when she sinks her little fangs into something.
