As the nocturnal relative to Sunbeam Drakes, Moonglow Drakes are a secretive breed most active under the light of the moons and stars. They are wary of others, but are known to have incredible loyalty should their trust be won. Catching sight of Moonglow Drakes as they dance amid the moonlight is seen as a favorable omen by those they live near, and tamed individuals are common. They are slightly smaller than their cousins, averaging around the size of a cat.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

Spectraltia NightFlurry (after the gemstone: Spectrolite) joined the clan cave as its 194th member, much to the delight of The Clan Mother's daughter! While slightly less friendly to humans than her clan mate Spectromiod, she seems to tolerate interaction with them with mild annoyance, some think perhaps because of her grand affection for him. Although still small in comparison to other clan dragons, she is rather large for one of her kind, making for an amusing sight when the two are seen together. Preferring the quiet security of the blackened night, she darts from treetop to treetop in a flurry of wing beats in what one could only describe as an intricate display of aerial supremacy. By day, she settles into a calm sleep as if her nighttime activities have all but depleted her energy, resting peacefully and awaiting the next setting sun so that she may once again become one with her beloved flutter-by. One day she hopes to bring offspring into the world; her own fruit of life.
