Stone Dragons have a tough outer covering made of a stone-like material. They eat rocks, using the minerals they contain for nourishment and to keep up their stone outer shell. They rarely move, and are the heaviest of all types of dragons. Although they have wings, indicating flight ability, no one has ever seen a stone dragon flying.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

To Ran, Monolithium is affectionately known as her 'tea seat'.  Happy to sit still for days -- sometimes weeks -- on end, she's generally more than delighted to allow her human to climb onto her back armed with a full, steaming kettle of tea and a plethora of books.  Ran had ashamedly spoiled Monolithium a little as a hatchling; she had been looking for a Stone dragon for quite some time, and was ecstatic when the little Stone egg came her way.  Thankfully, Monolithium never took this to heart, and grew to be a quietly caring dragon, rarely speaking but always letting her positive feelings for her human and her siblings radiate.  Her position in the home cave is that of a guard; understandably, she performs her job admirably.  She is not currently looking for a mate, as she is still young and thoroughly enjoys her roles as lookout, jungle-gym for the hatchlings, and tea seat for Ran.
