Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It perfectly depicts winter weather.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Blizzardmane likes to hide in large piles of snow, then leap out at unsuspecting dragons with a squeak. Most of the adults and hatchlings are good-natured enough to play along with her games, but she had learned from experience which ones not to play with. She was never injured in an altercation, but one time was too many, and too close. Blizzardmane is easily bored and can be quite a terror if something isn't keeping her busy.
