Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Jia Daiyu loves to follow Raikou Arashi around when he flies into storms. He's taken her in as his own daughter and uses her as a "secret weapon" (he uses her cutness) against Kuro Raiden. Her name, meaning "beautiful black jade," fits her perfectly because she is always cleaning her scales so they can sparkle and shine when the lightning flashes. She loves to play and is sometimes a bit too aggressive.
