Sophrosyne Dragons are a rare sight, typically making themselves known only to protect and heal the vulnerable. A visit from one serves as a reminder that kindness prevails, and that there’s always hope for positive change. While it is known that they possess the power to reverse botched spells, some claim they can even cure methodically-cast curses. This has never been formally documented, but these dragons have been seen arriving in the aftermath of violence, and the scars of tragedy seem to heal faster in their wake. The feathers of a Sophrosyne have thus become a symbol of perseverance and light in the face of darkness.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The egg of Yarina Nuria the Halo was found by the young girl Ember when Copper Nuria was a mere hatchling. The egg gave off a beautiful glow, and at first Ember thought this egg was a silver dragon's egg. But the glow was much more blue-hued than that of a silver dragon, so Ember raised it with much eagerness until it hatched into a breathtaking little hatchling. The little dragon was the most peace filled creature Elgar had ever known, and she brought peace to everyone she met. The dragons of Elgar were more than happy to give this sweet thing the title of "Halo". The hatchling was so small and delicate, but she had a big heart. She immediately warmed up to Copper Nuria, despite his snappy exterior. She brought out the best in him, and he grew very protective of her. The dragons soon fell in love, and Copper has vowed never to leave Yarina's side. The happy couple lives in Saltus Tres, the magical forest discovered by the Trio.
