Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Taninim was born on the death world of Exodite Prime. A world known for it's unforgiving rain forests and jungles where this species of Drakos do not reign supreme on the food chain. She was born to Tanith and Celestia, both rulers of the Black Drakos Clan. Her birth was signaled by the rare, millennial ecliptic cycle of the two Moons, which signaled that the imminent birth would be a great warrior. This worried the Council of the Elders when, upon the hour of her birth, it was deemed to be female. There has never been a female Warrior-Queen of the Black Drakos Clans in their entire noble and proud history. Taninim was raised and trained the equal of many male Black Drakos, and grew to be competent in all forms of martial combat. She later went on to lead the Clan against the renegade forces of Kharn the Betrayer and her Warp Dragons in what became the second most important battle in the war-torn system's history. Taninim currently dons the Crown of the Ancients as ruler of the Clan.
