Albino Dragons are so named because their translucent, scale-less skin lacks all pigment. Instead, to help protect their bodies from the sun, they are coated in an oily secretion that blocks the sun’s harmful rays. The call of an albino dragon is similar to a barn owl--a shriek instead of a roar.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The leader of his clan, Ven tends to go out of his way to impress and earn praise. This tends to be a very likely outcome due to his profound leadership skills and surprising ability to work out problems before they become to severe. The fact that this albino male became the leader of the Towakin clan surprised everyone, simply because of his health problems; too much sunlight and the oil that covers his skin can't take the heat, and he burns. It's not uncommon to find him with a red tint to his skin, if he's been outside too long.

Something else to note about Ven; his mate is another male dragon! Rather than settling down with a female, and producing young with her, Ven found himself more inclined to share a nest with the slightly younger Ochredrake, Greebah. No one is really sure why he chose him, but it's rumored that the two shared a rather dramatic experience together as hatchlings, and since then, they've been inseparable.
