Gemshard Dragons are small, gregarious, expressive easterns, living in large clans high in the jungle canopy. Their bodies are covered in tiny, gem-like scales that shimmer in direct light, and each dragon has a unique pattern of markings on the forked spade of its tail. Though Gemshard Easterns cannot fly, they often leap from springy branches high into the sky on sunny days and perform acrobatic spins and twirls to entertain themselves. When the weather turns foul, they pile up together on sturdy tree limbs and interlock the forks of their tails with others to keep warm and dry.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Zinnia is a force of positivity in her family and just in general. She always tries to keep a good outlook on life and is not bogged down (at least not for long) by setbacks. Though her name refers more to a specific cut of gem, it also rings true of her obsession with flowers. Zinnia, though a Ruby Gemshard, has a surprisingly green thumb. She loves playing in the soft dirt, planting things, and tending to gardens. She often turns to the Floret family living in her area, who have their own large garden of goodness. They appreciate Zinnia's spirit and help, even though she can be a bit overwhelming. That is the main issue with Zinnia: her energy. She can be pretty intense, especially toward more introverted dragons. She also has a habit of rambling on and on, particularly about flowers. Granted, she doesn't usually known she's doing this. She doesn't seem to notice when she makes others feel alienated or uncomfortable and just keeps going without realizing anything is wrong.
