Royal Crimson Dragons are so named due to their massive size and confident, regal bearing. Most of the time they are laid back, ignoring non-prey creatures smaller than themselves, although they will occasionally take fresh kills from other dragons as a reminder of their place in the social order. Although there are few other dragons large enough to pose a threat to Royal Crimsons, they have little tolerance for potential rivals and will fiercely defend their territory from such intruders.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

If his spicy name wasn't a dead giveaway, Chilli is wild and aggressive. He is rude, foul-mouthed, grumpy 90 of the time, and prone to biting. He doesn't quite have the same obsession with status as the rest of his family or Royal Crimsons in general. Rather, he just hates everyone. Anybody who comes too close is in for a fight. Chilli is a very tough fighter, stubbornly never backing down once challenged. Even if his foe surrenders, he will relentlessly chase them until he is satisfied they won't be an issue in the future. Of course, being a Royal Crimson, if Chilli isn't busy beating the tar out of some poor, unfortunate soul, he is usually asleep. Actually, the absolute worst offense someone can do him is waking him up. Doing this results in the no-mercy, relentless death charge fighting style Chilli is known and widely feared for. Even his fellow Royal Crimsons, though most are a lot bigger than he is, are genuinely intimidated by him and won't risk disturbing him.
