This breed of dragon was thought to exist only in legend. Although their name varies between cultures, they are often referred to as “Guardians of Nature.” They are able to channel the forces of fire, ice and lightning, which allows them to wield tremendous power. Seen very rarely, it is thought that they only become active when something is threatening the territory they have chosen to guard. In order to protect their chosen home, these dragons are incredibly adaptable; they have been seen everywhere from remote mountain ranges, to ancient forests, to the darkest depths of the ocean.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

It was a dark night when the female Thunder known as Lightning Strikes gathered her Legendary brethren close.  Fiery Magmas came from the volcanic isles, frigid Ices descended from the alpine heights, and her fellow Thunders dropped from the sky.  Though long had their calls gone unanswered, they lifted their voices to the Great Guardian.  On this night, however, they were blessed with a magical egg.  It was closely tended and eventually hatched.  The dragons waited anxiously for it to mature.  In time, the mysterious egg became a mythical dragon—a Guardian of Nature.   It came time for the keeper to name the Guardian.  She looked him over, and when she put her hand to his glittering snout she smiled.  He is the true protector, she whispered in her strange keeper tongue.  The other dragons heard his assent echoing in their minds.  From then on, he was known as The True Protector.  Though he will never mate, he finds comfort with Shadow Walkers, who know the darkness between realms.
