Gold-horned Tangars are a brightly colored tropical breed. They are primarily herbivores, and eat a wide variety of fruits and flowers in addition to the occasional bird. Tangars are well suited to life in the trees; their slender bodies make them light enough to be supported by thinner branches and agile enough to avoid obstacles while flying. Their brightly colored horns, found in both males and females, are used to attract mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When this hatchling was first born, it was abandoned in a pumpkin patch, just before midnight on Halloween night. The starving hatchling cried out for food and warmth, but none came. The hatchling went on instincts and ate the first pumpkin he saw. The owner of the pumpkin patch was checking on his precious pumpkins and starting to lock up, because the Halloween ghost was soon to come. After seeing the hatchling rip up one of his crop, he chased the young dragon out of his farm. The scared hatchling snuck back to the pumpkin patch and ate some more, for none did he know of the Halloween ghost coming through the town, closer and closer to the lonely hatchling. The hatchling heard a branch snap and turned around to see a giant ghost dragon staring at him. This huge beast merely whimpered and ran. The hatchling followed his kind but not long after entering the forest,the giant ghost was to far ahead to see so wandered in the forest until he found a lovely clan of his own.
