Originating from a single species that thrived in ancient times, Xenowyrms have become an incredibly diverse breed whose appearances vary depending on their habitats. Each Xenowyrm subspecies is heavily reliant on the power of different types of mana, making them powerful magic users. Mageia, found exclusively in desert regions, are thought to be the wisest Xenowyrm subspecies. Due to their knowledge of the magi element, they are able to cast a variety of magics, including teleportation. Their beautiful yellow scutes are reflective and smooth like glass, making them very valuable to collectors.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The reserved daughter of Enchant and Papaya, Mana was born from a borderline illegal marriage between the leader of her home island's magic council and a member of the most powerful family on said council. Such a scandalous relationship has been kept a secret from both their families, including Mana herself. As such, she was raised to be quiet, unassuming, and really, REALLY good at hiding. She's smaller than other Mageia, so has an easy time slipping into skinny crevices or burrows to hide from onlookers. In fact, she has become comfortable in these places and prefers the safety of embrace as opposed to being exposed. She loves both her parents, despite their attempts to hide her from the world, and is very obedient to them, even if she maybe shouldn't be. In spite of everything, they do love her, too, and wish they didn't have to hide her at all, but, as is, they work with such stipulations as best they can. At least Papaya's sister, Mango, is in on it and helps them as best she can.
