Blacktip Dragons are a small, shore-dwelling breed that tend to nest on sheer ocean side cliffs. They live in groups under a dominant female, who prevents her subordinates from breeding. During the mating season, a group of Blacktips can be very noisy and smelly indeed; males produce a distinctive musky odor and loud, low-pitched honking noises in an attempt to woo the alpha female.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

He's one of the many sons of Kentaro and Kiyomi, and was their only hatchling at the time. I'm Axs is a bit of a strange dragon. When he hatched, his father tried to bestow a regal name upon his newly hatched son; but I'm Axs would have none of that. When his father tried to name him, the little dragonet chirped, "I'm Axs". His parents laughed, and Kentaro said, "Fine, we'll name him Ax." But I'm Axs would have none of that either, this time he adamantly chirped, "NO! I'm Axs". So his mother asked, "Axs"; to which her infant angrily chirped, "NO! I'M AXS!". "I'm Axs", his mother queried. This time, her hatchling smiled and happily nodded. "What a strange baby we have here" his father laughed. That's as true today as it was then. I'm Axs is mated to his best friend since hatching, Baby Ax. He was there when she hatched, and he says he'll be there for her always. They're both a little weird, but they like it that way. They're soul mates, and love each other more than anything.
