Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Valruin Hravi's name means "Magic, the Wild One".

He is a serious and stoic dragon who spends his days holed up in a musty cave, poring over spellbooks. Valruin is a great wielder of magic; he has the power to shake mountains and rain fire from the skies. Luckily, Valruin is not a destructive dragon by nature. He prefers to cast little spells like keeping milk warm for the hatchlings, decorating his cave with glowing orbs of magic and shielding the lairs of dragons from nosy humans. However, Valruin has little to no sense of humor. He does not understand the jokes and puns of the other dragons and is often left bewildered after a chat with them. Valruin is a good-natured dragon though, and does not mind being the receiving end of Mae's jokes, although he doesn't find them funny.

Valruin is the first of his line; those of his bloodline carry the prefix name of 'Val' as well as his magical talent.
