Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Kyrator is the first Striped dragon in her cave. Because of this, she thinks herself important, because she wants to mate with other males to produce different coloured Stripes. Even though she is a little self absorbed and thinks highly of herself, she is actually kind of shy.

Her first, and current mate--at least when this was written--is a Black dragon named Linebeck, but what she sees in him, the other dragons don't really know. Kyrator's first egg didn't turn out to be another Striped egg, but a Black one. Every other time she meets up with Linebeck, they fail to produce any egg at all. Still, Kyrators spirits remain high as she tries to create a family of multi-coloured kids.
