Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Makuro is the first dragon born into the Moonstone Clan. Even though she's a Black dragon like her father, Makuro has very different looks and, because of her uniqueness, her parents doted on her. Her mother, Nilofer, the matriarch of the clan, made Makuro her heiress and her father, Shyam, taught her everything he knew about fighting, which makes Makuro the only dragon of the Moonstone Clan able to defeat him.

Makuro's education made her very arrogant and self-centered. Her own lifemate, Kristnasko, mattered little next to her greatest wish : to have a child who would look like her. The birth of her Alt Black daughter, Kuro no Keiyakusha, was able to soothe her loneliness. However, her temper didn't improve and she's still an insufferable dragon with little to no friends.
