Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Jennathia is a playful dragon. She jumps around with boulders and plays with other hatchlings. She acts sweet to adult dragons and will do whatever they please. She does chores without complaining and is great at listening. Before Jennathia grew wings, she stayed low on the ground as the older hatchlings flew high in the air. Jennathia was jealous of them but kept it mostly to herself. She acted hot tempered around that time. They bragged to her until Jennathia grew wings of her own. Since then, Jennathia acted kind-hearted.
