Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s brightly colored and chirps quite often.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Apple is the complete opposite of her mother Jada, born shortly before her own breed went extinct, she had all the more reason to believer herself special—especially with a renowned Silver father. And still Apple is as sweet as a hatchling can be, spending her time playing with her best friends Vi and Cufflinks not caring a bit about lineages, breeds, or any of that grown-up stuff.
