Dusk Pygmies, as their name may suggest, are crepuscular dragons. When the sun sets, they are most active and are commonly seen darting across the sky, the fading sunlight catching and reflecting off of their wings in brilliant patterns. Living in small, tight-knit groups, these pygmies spend many of their waking hours stretching their wings by fetching food for group members. The young, elderly, disabled, and injured are all diligently and lovingly cared for by all of the group. Though rather intelligent, they are easily distracted. Some Dusk Pygmies are prone to hoarding objects that may distract them; others may return late to their roost, long after most of their other group members are already sleeping.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pygmy dragons are the smallest category of dragons, being on the same scale as domesticated animals. They are often found around concentrated populations of dragons, relying on their larger brethren to ward away potential predators and leave scraps. As such, the majority of a pygmy’s diet is scavenged. Due to their tiny size, pygmies do not breed with larger varieties of dragons.

User Description

The boom in dragon-produced and skywing-delivered pamphlets, especially Caves and Lairs Quarterly and its imitators, has led to a rise in new scams. Iblik has found a particularly profitable one. She and her assistant, a magi dragon named Kyxru, show up at a remote lair claiming to be from Hoards and Lairs Quarterly's prize division. When the lair-owner lets them in, Iblik scouts out small, valuable, and above all easily-overlooked items with Kyxru's help, then returns with her team of pygmy dragons after a decent interval to collect everything. They split the proceeds three ways—one third for her, one third for her team, and one third for Kyxru. Iblik would like to get a larger share for herself and her team, but doesn't mind humoring Kyxru.
