Ultraviolet Dragons are a heat-loving breed that are most commonly found in hot, arid environments. These hardy dragons are omnivorous and will eat both plant and animal matter, even species with thorny physical defenses such as cacti. They are generally peaceful and often quite friendly, but males will become aggressive and cantankerous during the breeding season. Intense fights take place over females, sometimes resulting in injury for both combatants.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Her name means "Skillful" in Chinese. She was raised by Kentaro and Kiyomi after her egg was found in the desert. She's always been a bit of a handful, zipping about with an unmatched energy. Qiao has grown into a fine and beautiful dragoness, and is one of the fastest racers in the colony. She's very good at a sport called "Cactus Dodging". The goal is to race through a maze of cacti, without hitting the plants; the first dragon to reach the finish line is the winner. It's a sport that requires lots of speed, but more importantly, the ability to make REALLY sharp turns. Qiao met her mate at the racetrack. Shigaisen was a fierce opponent, but at the last minute, the much smaller Qiao slid between his legs, and past the finish line. They were both really impressed with the prowess of the other, and started hanging out. One thing led to another, and on a beautiful crisp day, they became eternal mates. They love each other so much, and they always will be. They're soul mates.
